Fortis, Trehan reach out of court settlement

The Escorts Heart Institute on Saturday announced an out of court settlement with Naresh Trehan, who was unceremoniously removed as executive director last week, reinstating the noted cardiologist to his earlier position to head the premium institution.

Ending the crisis that saw free exchange of charges and counter-charges between Shivender Mohan Singh, the managing director of Fortis Healthcare, which has majority stake in Escorts, and Trehan, Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre said in a statement that the allegations were borne out misunderstanding and are withdrawn.

Singh, who took charge of EHIRC, relinquished the new position as part of new the settlement and would continue as the Managing Director of EHIRC, the statement said.
