May 23, 2007 14:10 IST
Suspecting a 'big conspiracy' behind the serial blasts in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati said on Wednesday that top government officials had been rushed to the district for a 'thorough probe'.
"There seems to be a big conspiracy behind the serial blasts," she told reporters.
The state police chief, principal secretary, home, additional director general of police (law and order) and ADG (special tast force) had been rushed to Gorakhpur by air to monitor the investigation, she said.
Five persons were injured when three blasts rocked the temple city of Gorakhpur on Tuesday evening in the busy Golghar area.
She said the government had taken the blasts very seriously and it would be probed thoroughly.
