Bollywood scripts can't begin to compare to the characters politics throws up.

Following the UP assembly elections, we hit the Congress Party headquarters in Amethi, a far cry from their Rae Bareli setup.

This one is a well-established base, and while it was pitch dark on the lawns, a bunch of enthused party workers sat around in a circle and offered us tea.

It was then that we met the multitalented 'Swatantra' Mishra, longtime Congress worker introducing himself as a poet.

Swatantra, who also showed us his album of press clippings and pictures with Soniaji, gave us a brief recitation of his latest work, a parodic song to bolster local Congress candidate Rani Amita Singh's chances. We couldn't help but applaud.
