Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav filed his nomination papers on Tuesday from Bhartana assembly constituency in the district.

Yadav was accompanied by party general secretaries Amar Singh and Ram Gopal Yadav, his son Akhilesh Yadav and party Rajya Sabha member Jaya Bachchan.

He is also contesting from Gunnaur assembly constituency in Budaon district, which he represents in the Assembly.

The polling for Bhartana constituency is on April 7, the first of the seven phase elections.
