A fresh notice has been issued to Samajwadi Party parliamentarian Jaya Bachchan asking her to file a reply by April 15 on the allegation by a Congress leader that she had concealed facts about the property owned by her husband Amitabh Bachchan in Barabanki.

Returning Officer for Rajya Sabha polls, R P Pandey while issuing the notice on Thursday, said if Bachchan failed to file her reply by April 15, it will be presumed that she had nothing to say on the issue and the matter will be disposed of on the basis of available records, according to official sources in Lucknow.

The petition against Bachchan was filed with the Election Commission by Congress leader Amir Haider last year alleging that the Rajya Sabha parliamentarian had concealed facts about two plots in the name of her husband in Barabanki, the sources said.

Jaya was earlier disqualified by the EC in March 2006 for holding an office of profit as the chairperson of Uttar Pradesh Film Division. She was re-elected to the Upper House in by-election in June 2006.
