The Met department has predicted spells of rains and thundershowers in the city and suburbs till Wednesday morning.

However, there is a possibility of very heavy showers in some areas accompanied with strong gusty winds, they said.

The city has been sunny and almost dry during the past 24 hours with rain recordings of 10.4 mm at Colaba and 10.6 mm at Santa Cruz up to 8.30 on Tuesday morning.

The central as well as western line trains are on schedule, railway officials said.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Madhya Maharashtra in the next 24 hours while the other regions will experience showers too, weather officials said.
