Suspected Maoists have killed three persons, including a contractor, in Deogarh district, Director General of Police Amarananda Pattanayak said on Friday.

"We have information about the ultras killing a contractor in Tumikoma village and two other civilians in Ranigolla village in Deogarh district," he told PTI.

Superintendent of Police Safin Ahmed had rushed to the area and details are yet to be known, he said.

Communist Party of India-Maoist cadres are known to be active in the western Orissa district adjoining Sundargarh and Sambalpur.
