CPI-M secretariat begins in Thiruvananthapuram

The two-day meeting of the state secretariat of the CPI-M began at the AKG centre in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday.

The meet is expected to discuss, among other things, the LDF government's performance and the recent action against Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and party state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan who were removed from the Politburo.

CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat and Politburo members Sitaram Yechury, S Ramachandran Pillai and R Umanath are expected to attend the meeting on Saturday.

The secretariat meeting will be followed by three-day state committee meeting.
