J&K: Army convoy attacked, 2 troopers killed

Two security personnel were killed and six others, including four civilians and two troopers, wounded when terrorists ambushed a passing Army convoy in north Kashmir on Friday morning.

Police said terrorist ambushed an Army convoy, which was on its way to Bandipore town.

"Terrorists sprayed bullets at the passing army convoy resulting in on the spot death of an Army trooper and injuries to seven others including two Army soldiers, one Central Reserve Police Force trooper and four civilians," a senior police officer said in Srinagar [Images].

"One critically-wounded CRPF trooper later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital while the other wounded persons are undergoing treatment," he added.

The area has been cordoned off and search operations are on to nab the terrorists.
