Two kg of RDX and two detonators were recovered on Friday from Unnao, about 50 km from Lucknow, by Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force on the basis of information provided by a Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami militant.

The recovery was made on a tip-off by Noor Islam alias Mama, a HuJI militant who was arrested in West Bengal and brought to Lucknow by the STF on a transit remand, Additional Superintendent of Police STF Manoj Jha told PTI.

Over nine kgs of RDX and detonators were recovered early this month in Lucknow from two HuJI militants, who later revealed about their links leading to the arrest of two more terrorists in West Bengal.

"These terrorist were in STF remand and the recovery was made on their tip off," Jha said.

HuJI militants had revealed that they had brought over 100 kg of RDX in the state, to be delivered in various parts of the country, including New Delhi, he added.
