Punjab: PM, Sonia to campaign for 2 days

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi will campaign for two days each in Punjab for the February Assembly elections.

Dr Singh will campaign in the state on February 5 and 6, addressing political rallies in Amritsar, Jallandhar, Patiala and Ludhiana, Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh told reporters on Wednesday.

About the programme of Sonia Gandhi, the chief minister said the tentative dates of the her visit were February 8 and 10, but the final dates will be decided by the All India Congress Committee.

During her visit, Sonia would address political rallies in Jandiala or Beas, Tarn Taran or Amritsar, Phagwara, Sarhind and at some place in western Malwa, he said.
