J&K: 2 IEDs defused, tragedy averted

Timely detection of two improvised explosive devices on Tuesday morning on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Badami Bagh cantonment area of Srinagar averted a major tragedy.

A senior army officer said that sniffer dogs with Road Opening Parties of the army detected 2 pre-planted IEDs outside the G B Pant hospital on the highway in the Badami Bagh area.

"The IEDs were defused and thereby what could be a major tragedy was averted," the officer said.

Militants in Kashmir use IEDs to target security forces on the highways in the Valley.
