The body of a woman was recovered from the debris of a collapsed structure in the posh Civil Lines locality in Allahabad, raising the death toll to 8 in the tragedy.

The body was recovered late last night while rescue teams were clearing the debris, officials said adding the woman appeared to be in her 30s.

27 others were also injured when an under-construction four-storied building came crashing down on Wednesday.

The condition of all the injured, who have been admitted to two hospitals in Allahabad, was stated to be out of danger.

Taking a serious note of the incident, the Allahabad Development Authority has suspended two of its engineers.

An FIR has been lodged against the contractor hired for the construction of the building, police said.
