ULFA are petty criminals without morals: Governor
January 07, 2007 19:20 IST
"This cowardly act (killing of Hindi-speaking people) once again confirms the fact that they are not a revolutionary organisation as claimed by them but at best are a group of petty criminals." Singh said in a statement in Guwahati.
Condemning the massacre which "singled out peace-loving and hard working community of our society", the Governor said, "ULFA which claims to be the sentinel of Assamese culture, have by this act of cowardice not only brought shame to the state and its society but at the same time have displayed that they can stoop to any level to serve their own ends."
"If they think that by violence they can sabotage holding of the National Games then my government would go to any extent to ensure that the games are staged befitting the dignity and pride of the state of Assam," he said.
Singh appealed to society to condemn the activities of "this malicious organisation."
