Industrialist Mohinder Singh Pandher, whose house in Noida is the site of the grisly killing and abuse of children, and his domestic help Surender Kohli were let off by the Uttar Pradesh police after interrogation in August 2006 following the lodging of an first information report at Nithari village in Noida, police sources said.

They said the FIR was lodged after Payal, a suspected prostitute allegedly abused and killed by Pandher, went missing last year.

The lodging of the FIR came after villagers noticed the suspicious behaviour of Pandher and Kohli.
