Two unidentified militants were killed in a gun battle with security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district, officials said on Wednesday.

Following reports of firing at Gulshanpora area, the forces had laid an ambush in nearby Seer Jagir area of Tral on Tuesday evening. Noticing the militants' movement, the security personnel challenged them. In the ensuing gun battle, two militants were killed. Two AK rifles and some ammunition were recovered from the spot.

In another operation, militants left behind two AK rifles and two pistols after they were ambushed by security forces at Gallander in Pampore area of Pulwama district, officials said.
