Noida SSP R K S Rathore, who has been transferred connection with the Nithari serial killings, today said he was bound by government orders and refused to comment on the transfer.

"I am bound by government orders and will serve wherever I am sent," Rathore told reporters shortly after his transfer to Lucknow was announced.

Rathore, against whom a high-level official committee had recorded adverse findings in the Nithari children killings episode and recommended action, has been attached to the DGP's office in Lucknow.

"I thank everyone who has helped me during my tenure in Noida. I especially thank the media for its cooperation," he said.

The senior police official, however, refused to comment on the investigation into the case. "I would not like to comment on the investigation as the case is now with the CBI," he said.

Rathore was removed from the post and has been shifted to Lucknow while Dinesh Yadav, Circle Officer in Nithari, was suspended.

Ironically, Rathore got support from families of the victims, who protested the transfer saying he had been a big help to them.
