Hours after former Pakistan premier Benazir Bhutto [Images] was assassinated in Rawalpindi, President Pervez Musharraf [Images] appealed to the nation to maintain peace so as to defeat the nefarious designs of terrorists.

Musharraf call for order in the country came even as hundreds of Bhutto's supporters took to the streets and chanted slogans against him and the military administration.
