In a gruesome incident, a girl student was allegedly killed by an unidentified person in her college hostel at Ibrahimpatnam, near Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh, on Thursday.

Police said the victim, a B-pharmacy student of a private college in Vijayawada, returned to the hostel after Christmas vacation on Wednesday evening. As her other roommates had not returned, she was alone in the room when the incident occurred.

Students in the other room noticed blood coming out of the victim's room early Thursday. Police found the girl's naked body lying in the bathroom, with blood gushing from her ears and nose.

The police obtained a note from the spot, suspected to have dropped by the 'murderer,' which stated that the girl was raped and murdered for refusing his request for 'love.'

The body was taken to the government general hospital in Vijayawada for post-mortem, police added.
