Orissa: Fresh violence in curfew-bound areas December 26, 2007 14:35 IST Police said while four houses were torched outside Barakhama, six were set on fire in Jaleshpata. Though additional units of security personnel were rushed to the affected areas, their movement was restricted due to felling of trees by unidentified persons. Violence broke out on Monday after an attack on a Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader and prominent anti-conversion activist Laxmanananda Saraswati. Paramilitary forces, including Central Reserve Police Force and Rapid Action Force, have been deployed in sensitive areas. Tension prevailed in other curfew-bound areas of Baliguda, Daringibadi, Brahmanigaon and Phulbani towns of the district, which saw large-scale attacks on churches, houses and offices of certain non-profit organizations on Tuesday, police said.
