The Gujarat CID, which is conducting a probe into the fake encounter killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, on Saturday seized two vehicles one of which is suspected to be have been used to transport him and his wife Kausar Bi to Gujarat.

The two vehicles were seized in connection with the ongoing investigation in the case involving the three arrested IPS officials D G Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandiyan and Dinesh Kumar M N, police sources said.

One of the two vehicles is a Toyota Qualis, which is suspected to have been used by the police to transport Sohrabuddin and his wife to Gujarat.

Both Sohrabuddin and Kausar Bi are believed to have been picked up by the police near Tandola village on the Hyderabad-Mumbai highway when they were travelling from Hyderabad on a Belgaum-bound bus, the sources said.

The vehicle was seized from Porbandar and belongs to a businessman who is reportedly a friend of arrested IPS officer Rajkumar Pandiyan.

The businessman had lent the vehicle to Pandiyan, police sources said.

Police seized these vehicles and brought it to Gandhinagar as part of evidence collecting process, the sources said.
