A local court on Friday extended by 15 days the judicial remand of six ABVP activists, including its former state president Shashiranjan Singh Akela and former Secretary Vimal Tomar in Professor H S Sabharwal's death case.

The accused were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class R S Madia, who extended their judicial remand till October 13.

Akela and Tomar had resigned from their posts and were relieved by ABVP after their arrest in connection with the death of Prof Sabharwal in violence during student union elections at Madhav College at Ujjain on August 26.

Four other ABVP workers -- Vishal Rajoria, Hemant Dube, Sudhir Yadav and Pankaj Mishra -- were later arrested and remanded to judicial custody till Friday.
