India on Wednesday rubbished reports emerging from Nepal which suggested that a large consignment of arms had been sent from Delhi [Images] to the Himalayan country.

"These reports are baseless and there is no truth in these," External Affairs Ministry spokesman said in response to a question on the reports.

Maoist commander Ananata had reportedly claimed that the cadres had intercepted dozens of army vehicles carrying weapons on Monday.

Ananata said these had been imported by Nepalese army from India.

The allegations have been refuted by Nepal government as well.
