President A P J Abdul Kalam has turned into an idol, literally.

The country's first citizen's idol was the main attraction in a Kali puja pandal in Panbazar Railway Colony in Guwahati.

The idol was dressed in a gray suit, which Dr Kalam wore during his recent trip to Guwahati.

''Dr Kalam is the only inspiring leader in the nation whom a child can look up to,'' said one of the organisers.

They are, however, unaware that the President does not like personality worshipping and in fact has urged people not to use his name for any street, educational institutions or any other organisation.

But undaunted, the Panbazar Railway Colony organisers were happy that they had became the cynosure of all eye of this capital city for this innovative concept.
