With one more death reported on Monday, the toll from Dengue in West Bengal rose to 5 while 675 others remained admitted due to the disease in different hospitals in the state's 15 districts, Health department sources said in a statement.

14 fresh dengue cases were admitted in different hospitals on Monday, while one case was reported in the city during the day, the sources said.

Altogether 372 dengue patients were undergoing treatment in different hospitals in the metropolis.

Two deaths were reported from Howrah while one person each died at Burdwan, Malda and Purulia, they said.

The maximum number of 79 cases were admitted in hospitals in North 24 Parganas, followed by 40 in South 24 Parganas, 39 in Howrah and 29 in Hooghly districts.

Besides, 11 Dengue patients from adjoining Orissa and Jharkhand were also admitted in hospitals in West Bengal, the sources added.
