Defence deals: CBI raids 35 places

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday conducted raids at 35 places in connection with four defence deals.

The raids were being conducted against arms dealers and middlemen and included the office and residential premises of Congress legislator Arvind Khanna, his father Vipin Khanna and Suresh Nanda, son of former navy admiral S Nanda, sources said.

The residence and official premises of Sudhir Chaudhary and that of M S Sawhney were also raided by the CBI.

The raids were being conducted in connection with four defence related cases, which included the processing and purchase of Denel rifles, Barhack missiles and armed recovery vehicles.
