Bechu Rehaman, the key accused in the Sabarimala temple priest assault case, surrendered before the police in Cochin, Kerala, on Tuesday.
Rehaman, a small time Malayalam film and television actor, surrendered before G Venu, the Circle Inspector of the Ernakulam Central police station, who is also the investigating officer in the case. The Kerala High Court had on September 19 directed him to surrender on Tuesday. Rehaman is likely to be produced before Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Ernakulam.
Another main accused in the case, Shobha John, who had been arrested on August two along with two others, was recently released on bail by the High Court.
