Police have arrested Muzaffarpur's S K Memorial Silver Jubilee Law College prinicipal Jayant Singh and RDS College principal Tauheed Alam on Wednesday for helping absconding Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Mohammad Shahabuddin to appear for the LLB examination last year.

Muzaffarpur DSP M Gupta confirmed the arrests. "They were arrested after a probe conducted into the case found them guilty," police officials said.

However, Alam and Singh denied their involvement after the arrest.

It was widely reported last year that Shahabuddin appeared for the LLB examination conducted by Bihar University at Muzaffarpur despite a nationwide alert for his arrest.

He appeared for the examination in Muzaffarpur's RDS College as a candidate from S K Memorial Silver Jubilee Law College, Muzaffarpur.

After that the government ordered an inquiry into it.
