Vikas Yadav, the main accused in the Nitish Katara murder case, slapped a photojournalist in Patiala House Court Complex on Tuesday, triggering vehement protest from the media.

Vikas was on his way to the court lock-up after being produced before the Additional Sessions Judge Ravinder Kaur, who is hearing the Katara murder case.

Vikas, brother of Bharti Yadav, a key witness in the case, got agitated as the waiting photo-journalists started clicking.

He slapped the photojournalist of a yet-to-be launched newspaper.

The journalists, while condemning the action, are contemplating lodging a formal complaint in this regard.

The court was hearing Katara murder case in which Vikas and Vishal, son and nephew of controversial Uttar Pradesh politician D P Yadav, are the main accused.
