Prachanda, the underground leader of the Nepalese Maoist Army, arrived in New Delhi on Friday evening and drove stright to Maurya Sheraton Hotel where he would be putting up for next couple of days.

When asked how he felt being in India, Prachanda said that he was really thrilled about his visit." It is exciting. It feels good to be here," he replied.

"This is my first visit as an over ground leader. I have been to India under cover earlier," he said.

Minutes after landing at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Prachanda was held up at the immigration counter for few explanations. It took him half an hour before being allowed to proceed.

He is accompanied by his wife Sita.
