Drunk driver mows down 7 in Mumbai suburb
November 12, 2006 10:25 IST
Seven persons were killed and ten injured when a car ran over them in Mumbai's suburban Bandra in the early hours of Sunday.
Four persons have been taken into custody, the police said.
The mishap occurred when the car ran over people who were sleeping on a pavement in Carter Road in Bandra.
Some eyewitnesses spoke of the driver being drunk, but the police said they would be able to comment on the same only after the medical examination of those arrested.
In 2002, actor Salman Khan's Toyota Land Cruiser rammed a bakery in Bandra on September 28, killing one person and injuring four others who were sleeping outside.
