A Sri Lankan-Canadian man allegedly killed his wife and daughter before throwing himself off his in-laws' apartment in Toronto's suburban Scarborough on Sunday morning.
The police said that he called the emergency service and gave the address of the place where he had killed his wife and daughter before killing himself.
By the time the police cruisers arrived at the two addresses, which are close to each other, they found the three bodies.
They were identified as Kumar Thayakumar, 40, Malini Thayakumar and daughter Neruuya.
It is not known whether there was any abuse but some people talk of mental illness in Kumar's case.
Two other daughters, aged 12 and nine, were in another of the couple's homes.
The police and paramedics led them out of the townhouse in their pyjamas and winter coats.
