Jharkhand nominated for best e-governed state award November 02, 2006 10:29 IST The other nominated members vying for the award are Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka and New Delhi. The award called CSI/Nihilent e-governance is given every year in two categories -- project and state. While individual projects are selected for awards on various criteria, the states that make significant progress in the e-governance area are awarded best e-governed state award. The final selection would be made by a jury on November 4 in New Delhi at the department of management studies at IIT. They will make a presentation before the jury. Jharkhand is the first state in the country to have completed its statewide area network, called Jharnet. UNI
