J&K: Militants strike again, cop killed

A powerful hand grenade explosion resulted in the death of a cop and injuries to three at Saraibala in the summer capital Srinagar [Images] on Tuesday afternoon.

Police said militants lobbed a powerful hand grenade at a police jeep near Naz cinema crossing at Saraibala. The grenade exploded inside the vehicle, killing constable Ghulam [Images] Nabi on the spot.

"Two civilians and another cop, who were injured in the explosion, were taken to hospital. Condition of the injured policeman is stated to be critical," a police officer said.
