A powerful live bomb was found in the Patna-Damodar express train at Patna railway station on Thursday morning by police. A major blast was averted by timely action by police.

Soon after news of the bomb found spread, it created fear and panic at the railway station.

According to railway police, the bomb was found in a bag during routine train check up by the GRP at station. "The bomb was kept in the bathroom of the train," police said.

However, the disposal team diffused the bomb. Police is investigating in connection with the bomb and the likely hands behind it.

The train was coming from Dhanbad to Jharkhand . Police suspect extremists placed the bomb in the train but failed to execute the blast.
