Shayan Munshi, model and actor, was questioned on Monday by the special investigation team of the Delhi police, in connection with destruction of evidence in the Jessica Lal [Images] murder case.

Munshi, who was caught at Kolkata airport on his way to Bangkok on Saturday, arrived in Delhi late Sunday night, after the Delhi police directed him to join the investigation.

The SIT sleuths have sought an explanation from Munshi for leaving the country despite having a look-out circular
issued against him.

Before appearing for questioning, Munshi told reporters that neither was he aware of any look-out circular issued
against him nor he was informed by the Delhi police about the same.

Model Jessica Lal was shot dead at Tamarind Court, a restaurant owned by socialite Bina Ramani, in South Delhi on the night of April 29, 1999.

Munshi was one of the persons who had seen key accused Manu Sharma shoot Jessica but had turned hostile in court
during the trial.

A trial court had acquitted two key accused Manu Sharma -- the son of a Haryana minister -- and former Rajya Sabha MP D P Yadav's son Vikas Yadav as well as seven others of all charges in the murder case.
