Terrorists ambushed a police party in Vicharnag in downtown Srinagar [Images] early on Thursday morning, killing two policemen.
The terrorists escaped with one of the slain policemen's automatic weapon.
Police sources said the terrorists fired a volley at a police party from the Soura police station in Vicharnag. "One head constable and one contable were killed," a senior police officer said.
