Chouhan wins Budhni assembly bypoll

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday won the bypoll in Budhni assembly constituency defeating his nearest Congress rival Raj Kumar Patel by 36,525 votes.

Chouhan, who had been sworn in as chief minister on November 29, 2005, secured 66,689 votes as against 30,164
votes polled by Patel, a former state minister, in the byelection held on May 3, official sources said.
