Camilla charmed by Punjab's villages

March 28, 2006 14:53 IST

HRH Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, sits with local girls during a visit to a village in Punjab on March 27, 2006 in Chandigarh.

The visit provided an opportunity to support the UK's international contribution and profile, with key themes to promote better understanding and tolerance between faiths, supporting environmental and conservation initiatives, and encouraging sustainable employment and training opportunities for young people.

This is the royal couple's second joint overseas tour. Prince Charles last visited India in October 2003.
