WB polls: Congress announces first list March 22, 2006 23:04 IST Congress, which has been forced to go along with some minor allies following failure of a grand alliance with Trinamool Congress, on Wednesday, announced its first list of 83 candidates for the coming assembly polls in West Bengal. Prominent among those in the fray are sitting legislators Manas Bhunia from Sabang, Abdul Mannan from Champadani and Nirbed Ray from Tamluk assembly constituencies respectively. Congress has decided to contest almost all the seats in the elections leaving some 25 seats for its smaller partners like the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha in the united front being led by it.
