Three earthquakes, all measuring 5.2 on the Richter Scale, rocked the Andaman sea region since Thursday night, the Met office said on Friday.

The two moderate intensity temblors occurred in the region at 0936 hrs and 1014 hrs on Friday.

While the epicenter of the first quake was 10.5 degrees North latitude and 94.3 degrees East longitude, the origin of the second tremor was located at 9.9 degrees North latitude and 93.4 degrees East longitude.

The Meteorological Department said a temblor shook the region at 2042 hrs on Thursday night.

There were no immediate reports of any damage.

Hundreds of aftershocks have rattled the Andaman region ever since the December 2004 temblor off Sumatra that touched off a tsunami and devastated lives along the Indian Ocean coast.
