Delhi police gunned down two Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists near Bawana on the outskirts ofDelhiearly Wednesday morning.

Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul confirmed the killings. The killings came hours after two bomb blasts rocked Varanasi, killing over 20 people and injuring more than 60.

"Our special cell boys did a splendid job and gunned down two Lashkar terrorists near Bawana this morning. They were killed in an encounter around 6 am," he said.

One of the terrorists has been identified as Ghulam Yazdani, who was linked to several recent terror attacks, Joint Commissioner (Special Cell) Karnal Singh told PTI.

While one of the terrorists was a Bangladeshi national, the other was an Indian, police said, adding that the duo were involved in carrying out a suicide attack at the STF headquarters of Hyderabad police in October last year.
