Delhi police gunned down two Lashkar-e-Tayiba terrorists near Bawana on the outskirts of Delhi early Wednesday morning.

Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul confirmed the killings. The killings came hours after two bomb blasts rocked Varanasi, killing over 20 people and injuring more than 60.

"Our special cell boys did a splendid job and gunned down two Lashkar terrorists near Bawana this morning. They were killed in an encounter around 6 am," he said.

One of the terrorists has been identified as Ghulam [Images] Yazdani, who was linked to several recent terror attacks, Joint Commissioner (Special Cell) Karnal Singh told PTI.

While one of the terrorists was a Bangladeshi national, the other was an Indian, police said, adding that the duo were involved in carrying out a suicide attack at the STF headquarters of Hyderabad police in October last year.
