Powerful bombs exploded at two places in the busy Mavoor Road area in Kozhikode Friday, but no casualties were reported, police said.

While the first explosion took place near the KSRTC bus station around noon, another bomb went off soon near the private bus stand, also located in the same area, the sources said.

The entire area was cordoned off immediately, they said.

An anonymous call was received informing the police that bombs had been planted at several places in the city, they said adding, it was not known who were behind the act.

Ruling out casualities, they said the reason behind the attack was yet to be ascertained.
