Should we forgive the LTTE? Tell us June 29, 2006 The LTTE has apologised for killing former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, and urged India to forgive and forget in order to facilitate the peace process in Sri Lanka. The Sri Lankan government too wants India to get involved in the process. But New Delhi -- which had earlier burnt its fingers by sending peacekeeping troops to resolve the crisis -- believes that by talking to the Tigers, it would be giving legitimacy to an outfit it has banned as a terrorist outfit.
