A person was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stealing former Indian cricket skipper Sourav Ganguly's [Images] gold chain and locket from his residence at Behala in the outskirts of Kolkata.

Police said Ganguly discovered the theft on Friday and lodged a complaint at the Thakurpukur police station, following which a person who had been engaged to change the upholstery was picked up for interrogation.

The man was arrested and the stolen jewellery recovered, it said.
