FIR filed against Apollo Hospital

Delhi [Images] Police today registered an FIR against Apollo Hospital for giving false information to its officials in the sensational Rahul Mahajan [Images] drug abuse case, a day after it was directed by a Delhi court to take action against the private hospital.  

The FIR was registered under section 182 of the IPC against doctors and management of the hospital at the Sarita Vihar Police Station in South Delhi.  

"We have registered an FIR as per the court order," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (south district) Sanjay Kumar said.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau had  on Thursday directed the police to register an FIR against doctors and management of Apollo Hospital for giving  false information to investigating authorities.  

The court had also allowed to seize relevant records of the hospital, including the casualty registers and pathological reports, if required for the probe, after it was submitted that these may be tampered with.
