Late Bharatiya Janata Party leader Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul, who was arrested on Monday evening for alleged consumption of drugs and destruction of evidence, has denied taking any contraband, his lawyer said.

Sunil Mittal, advocate of Mahajan, told reporters here it was obvious that police arrested Rahul "under pressure and we are trying to find out what that pressure is."

Mittal said the evidence, on the basis of which he has been arrested, was not sufficient as no drugs, as per the tests carried out by the Apollo hospital, were found in Mahajan's body.

Terming as "tutored" the statement of Sahil Zaroo, who allegedly procured the drug for Rahul and Pramod Mahajan's secretary Vivek Moitra, Mittal said his client has not "recovered fully and we are also exploring the legal remedies available to him."
