Tanmarg town in Baramulla district observed a complete shutdown on Friday, as residents took to the streets to protest the attack on tourists at Gulmarg resort on Wednesday.

The residents protested against the militant attack on a State Road Transport Corporation bus carrying tourists from Delhi and Jammu, official sources said.

Fourteen persons, including five tourists, were injured in Wednesday's grenade attack at Gulmarg, which was first militant strike in the highly-secured area in many years.

The protestors shouted slogans against the 'perpetrators of the attacks on tourists. The aim of the attackers is to derail the revival of tourism industry in the state'.
