PM to address nation at 8 pm

July 12, 2006 17:54 IST

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address the nation at 8 pm in the wake of serial blasts set off by terrorists in Mumbai on Tuesday.

Public broadcaster Doordarshan will telecast his address, official sources said.

They said Dr Singh was constantly monitoring the situation in the country's financial capital, which was rocked by the blasts in trains and railway platforms.

He is also likely to visit Mumbai later this week, the sources said.
