Striking doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences claimed to have been roughed up on Thursday night by the police who allegedly tried to remove the make shift tents put up by them.

Resident Doctors Asssociation President Binod Patro said a posse of policemen came up to the AIIMS lawns where four doctors, including himself, had been on an indefinite hunger strike protesting the Institute Director Dr P Venugopal's removal and tried to remove the tent put up by them.

He also claimed that the police, about 200 in number, roughed up the striking doctors.
